Coomera Kathryn Service Manager

Kathryn Waite

Hi, I’m Kathryn, Service Manager at The Cottage Coomera. This has been my home for six wonderful years. You will find me roaming the halls singing away or greeting you from behind the desk. I am a mum to two children Xavier(9) and Violet (2), I am married to my amazing husband Chris and we love calling the Gold Coast home. In our spare time you will find us enjoying a beautiful sunny day at the beach or we love to go to our local park and play a game of footy.

Before starting in Early Childhood Education, I spent many years in the hospitality industry 8 of them over in Canada where I met my amazing husband. As a child I always wanted to work with children, and you would often find me in my room teaching all of my teddies. When the opportunity came for me to start studying my Diploma, I jumped right into it. Putting myself right out there I walked into the Cottage asking if they had any casual work. I was so fortunate to be able to start my journey here and have held all positions across the service.

The thing I love most about Early childhood education is the close and intimate relationships you get to make with not only the children, but their families as well. I love to see the faces on the children when they are able to achieve something you have just taught them, as an educator it is so rewarding to watch your little ones in their first 5 years, we get to experience so many firsts as well as support their learning journey all the way until they leave for school.

I am so humbled to be your Service Manager and be able to lead such an amazing group of educators. You will always know I am in the service by the delightful singing and belly laughs through the hallways. I look forward to welcoming you to the Cottage, and building beautiful bonds together.

There's so much on offer for your little one

At The Cottage, we want to provide a holistic learning experience for your child. It starts with nutritious meals at each mealtime throughout the day, catering to your child’s dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural considerations. We invite visitors from our local community to come in and present the children with new ideas, knowledge and exploration activities. Your child will learn through a variety of play-based activities, teaching them to engage, share, and develop their skills across academics, emotions, and social aspects. We also provide a host of sporting, cooking, and school readiness activities.

Pick something up to make your little one look the part.

Take a look at the Story House Early Learning Shop. With T-shirts, bucket hats, and stationery available, your little one can look the part – in a range of fun colours, too!
